Kansas City, MO - August 15, 2011 -- USARiseUp.com will continue the National Collegiate Dialogue on Race Relations (NCDRR), beginning on Monday, September 19, 2011. This will be the 2nd year of the online dialogue, which began with the 2010-2011 academic year. With increasing racial unrest and racist incidents involving young people occurring in many American cities and across the globe, an ongoing dialogue is needed now more than ever.

NCDRR provides an excellent opportunity for students to actively participate in a healthy and meaningful exchange about an important issue that continues to pose major challenges in contemporary society-race relations.

How the Dialogue Works

Daily, students have an opportunity to go online and share their thoughts on the issues and conversations of the week with fellow students at their college or university as well as with students from other schools. The Conversation topics and Issues of the Week are submitted by professors, other expert authors, and journalists.

Professors are urged to encourage student participation by offering the dialogue as an opportunity to earn extra credit. The dialogue and various departments on the website also provide excellent resources for essays and research papers.

Online Participation Is User Friendly and Convenient

For convenience, and to make participation user friendly, USARiseUp.com will provide usernames and passwords to professors to be distributed to students upon receipt of the list of students that will be participating. Students will access the dialogue by using their assigned username and password. USARiseUp.com will provide to professors monthly reports (or biweekly reports upon request) on student involvement. The reports will assist professors in evaluating the level and quality of performance.

Interested schools can visit the conversations that occurred during the last academic year. Meet the distinguished advisory panel and peruse the participating colleges and universities.

There is a place on the website to Sign Up to receive usernames and passwords that will make it easy for students to discuss these critical issues.
