New Zealand offers an array of wonders from good wine, to natural landscapes, shopping, and exploring the capital city of Auckland for a few hours or a day.
What’s the best way to hit all the coolest shops and hot spots? On the back of a Harley Davidson, of course.
A company called Bularangi Motorbikes offers one, two, and four-hour chauffeured passenger tours of the city. All you have to do is sit on the back of a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic in an armchair like seat, listen to the Harley roar and watch the scenery as your driver takes you to some of the best shopping spots in the country.
Auckland’s many shopping districts means a smorgasbord of choices. One particularly hip area is Karangahape Road, better known as K Road. With 20 stores to choose from you can go from the ordinary to the sublime with high fashion sitting alongside retro and vintage or ethnic to kitsch home decor.
Must stop shops on K Road are “Real Groovy” for music and DVD’s, “Fuzzy Vibes Junction” with 1960’s to 80’s home décor, or “This is Not a Love Shop” and “Vixen Vintage” for retro coats, bags, shoes, and more.
The Harley Davidson tour departs from and returns to central Auckland, hotel pickup is preferable. Just tell them where you want to go and they furnish a jacket, helmet, gloves, and wet weather gear if needed.
After shopping, if there’s still time, opt to see a few city highlights like the Harbour Bridge, Mt. Eden, Auckland War Memorial, Tamaki Drive, Kohimarama, and Mission Bay.
