With summer coming to an untimely end, maybe taking a Mexico beach trip might lighten the load before getting back into the grind. Explore the Mexican culture, swim in the ocean, and eat great food.

One of the most inviting places in Mexico is, without a doubt, Los Cabos. While there are a number of places to stay for a dose of relaxation, two Starwood properties stand out, each particularly unique, and definitely added to your short list.

The Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort, offers plenty of tequila and tasting classes, cigars and excellent food all around. The property sits on a secluded beach within Cabo del Sol and the golf-course is a Jack-Nicklaus renowned Ocean Course ranked as a top 100.

The Hacienda-style architecture is the big attraction with cobblestone, fountains, and plazas dotting the property, as well as a variety of activities off-site just minutes away in Cabo San Lucas. A spa experience at this resort is a good way to unwind, and the indigenous cactus facial is about as local as it gets.

Take a few days at the Starwood sister property, offering a different vibe at the Westin Resort and Spa Los Cabos. The Westin is stunning with an architectural tribute to the Arch rock formation nearby in the Sea of Cortez, dividing the two seas at Land’s End. The resort’s modern structure rises from the red rock. It not only looks like a paradise, famous architect Javier Sordo Madaleno created it with an eye toward contemporary lines, curves, and colors capturing the essence of the desert and sea with screaming colors of fuschia, yellow, and aquamarine.

Dinner at the AAA Four Diamond Restaurant, Arrecifes, home to live jazz music and extraordinary views of the Sea of Cortez, is a spectacular sight upon entering its circular setting, and the views of the ocean beckon you inside. Westin standouts include the heavenly beds, marble showers, and private balconies – leave your patio door open all night and be lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean.

A quick jaunt to unwind or a week full of doing whatever you desire, Los Cabos is all about pleasing the guest whatever the whim.
