BERLIN (AP) — A German pastor due to stand trial for allegedly inciting violence at an anti-Nazi demonstration said Tuesday that authorities risk deterring people from standing up to right-wing extremists if he is convicted.

Prosecutors accuse Lothar Koenig of serious breach of the peace, attempted obstruction of justice, and attempted coercion at a protest in the eastern city of Dresden two years ago.

One of the best ways to remember Martin Luther King, Jr. is to continue some aspect of the work for which he lived and died. But there is so much left to be done.

Forty-five years ago on April 4, 1968, an assassin’s bullet claimed the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. King was there in support of the garbage workers who were striking to get better wages.

Jewish Refuge A Virginia Landmark

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A farm purchased by a Richmond department store owner during World War II to shelter Jews escaping Nazi Germany has been added to the Virginia Landmarks Register.

Hyde Park in Nottoway County is among 13 additions to the register by the state Department of Historic Resources. Others include historic districts, a New Deal-era elementary school in northern Virginia, and houses and homesteads dating back centuries.
